CLEVELAND, Ohio – A fourth victim has died after a domestic violence incident on Friday turned into a mass shooting at a home in Cleveland’s Brooklyn Centre neighborhood.
Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia of the Cleveland Police Department has confirmed that the 48-year-old male victim of Friday’s shooting at a home on Mack Court near West 37th Street had died Sunday morning.
He was one of five victims of the shooting, four of whom now have died.
Three were pronounced dead at the scene. The 48-year-old man and his 8-year-old daughter had been transported to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition from one or more gunshot wounds. The girl is still hospitalized at this time, Ciaccia said.
Police have not publicly identified the 48-year-old man.
The shooting took place around 8 p.m. on Friday. Police had been flagged down by a 41-year-old suspect, who has not been formally identified, and were told that five people had been shot. The suspect took officers to the home where three people had been found dead on arrival: Miguel Gonzalez, 69, of Cleveland; Angelic Gonzalez, 34, of Cleveland; and Jayden Baez, 16, of Cleveland.
The suspect, who is related to the dead victims, was taken into custody but, as of Saturday, had not been formally charged. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
