Judge Sandra Heredia of the 44th Criminal Circuit Court sentenced former Colombian President Álvaro Uribe to 12 years of house arrest for procedural fraud and bribery. The court also fined him over 3.4 billion Colombian pesos (~$822,000) and prohibited him from exercising public rights and functions for more than eight years. Uribe was granted house arrest, and authorities in Rionegro were ordered to issue the arrest warrant and transfer him to serve his sentence.
